How our Digital Marketing Agency Created a New Online Presence for an FMCG Business
The company is a large UK-based manufacturer and importer of retail goods in the barbeque industry. Its goods are available to buy online and at the big supermarkets and wholesalers, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Makro and Costco. Operating out of Lancashire, in the North West of England, with its own manufacturing and warehouse facility, the company was the first to develop and sell instant barbeques and quick-lighting charcoal in the country.
We were tasked with improving the company’s sales and business performance. The business had an established UK-wide sales team and account managers already in place. Our job was to conduct market research in order to find alternative products that the company could sell during low sales seasonal periods.
What We Did
As a full-marketing agency, we completed a strategic sales and marketing review and found a few gaps in the sales processes. The company was experiencing shortages in sales when it wasn’t barbeque season. To help it overcome this, we introduced our customer to one of our own clients that sold products in a similar, but not identical, market.
Our marketing and branding experience meant that we were enable to set up a joint-branding initiative between the two companies, which resulted in an upturn in sales of over £1m+ for both parties. The business has grown very successfully and has launched several newly branded products throughout Costco Makro, Sainsburys, Homebase etc. Thankfully the business no longer has seasonal sales shortages due to the changes implemented as a result of our work.
